Aizawl dated 9th January 2025: Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durga Das Uikey visited the Eklavya Model Residential School in Tlangnuam today. During his visit, he inspected the school's facilities and interacted with the staff.
Shri Durga Das Uikey emphasized the importance of education in bridging the development gap across India. He stressed that the Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) play a crucial role in promoting education and inclusivity. The Union Minister also acknowledged the significant role teachers play in shaping young minds and guiding them toward success. He encouraged the staff to continue their good work.
Eklavya Model Residential School in Tlangnuam is currently having an enrolment of 101 students, comprising students from grades 6 and 7 with 6 teachers and 11 other staff members.
The school is being constructed by DJ Consultancy Services, with 95% of the work already completed. It is expected to be fully operational by March 2025.
