Aizawl, 28th May 2025: Today, the Union Minister of State for Women & Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, arrived in Mizoram for an official visit. She was welcomed at Lengpui Airport by Mrs. Lalrinpuii, Minister of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Govt. of Mizoram, Mr. Lalnunhlua, Additional Secretary, WCD, Mrs. Zoramthangi Chhangte, Director, WCD and other important government officials.

Smt. Savitri Thakur is accompanied by Nimisha Jha (ICAS), Private Secretary to the Hon’ble Minister, Pankaj Shrivastava (ISS), Statistical Advisor, Deepak Kumar, Additional Private Secretary to the Minister of State, and Santosh Kumar, Assistant Section Officer.

This afternoon, Smt. Savitri Thakur visited several important facilities under the Women & Child Development Department at Durtlang. These include - Shakti Sadan, a shelter home for women facing difficulties; Observation Home, for children in conflict with the law; Special Home, to guide such children on the right path; Place of Safety, a secure home for children above 16 years facing serious legal cases and One Stop Centre (OSC), a support facility setup for women facing violence.

After these visits, a Review Meeting was held at Aijal Club with Mrs. Lalrinpuii, the Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department, and other officials.

Tomorrow, 29th May, Smt. Savitri Thakur will visit Khawzawl and Champhai, and on 30th May, she will have a meeting with the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Mr. Lalduhoma.
