Dated Hnahthial, the 23rd April, 2025: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Planning, Statistics and Programme Implementation and Minister of State for Culture, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh visited Hnahthial District today and interacted with key officials reviewing the implementation of various Central policies and schemes in the District. Reviewing the various schemes, he stated that the development of Mizoram and North East India as a whole translates to the development of India.

Shri Rao Inderjit Singh reached Rallangtlang Helipad at 10:50 a.m. where he was greeted by the Deputy Commissioner, Pi K. Vanlalruati along with several officials. He then proceeded to the DC Conference Hall, where the review programme of various central schemes and policies was held.

In his speech to the officials of Hnahthial District, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh praised the state of Mizoram as a whole for its maintenance of law and order, remarking it as one of the most peaceful states in India. Emphasising that the main purpose of his visit was to find out what is lagging in the central schemes and policies implemented, he stressed on the importance of the development of Hnahthial District and by extension, Mizoram as a whole. He reiterated that finding out what is needed for the development of North East regions is one of the main targets of the central ministries. As such, he hopes that the development of Hnahthial District will be one of the key factors in helping India become a developed nation.

During the review programme, key officials from the Health & Family Welfare Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fisheries Department, Public Health Engineering, Rural Development Department, Education Department as well as Women and Child Development gave a presentation on how their respective central schemes are being implemented within Hnahthial District. Schemes such as PM POSHAN, PMMSY, JJM, MGNREGA, PMAY along with several other schemes were the topic of discussion during the programme.

The Union Minister of State gave remarks on each of the implementation of the schemes discussing the various ways the policies could cater more to the people and contribute to the development of Hnahthial District.

The interaction and review programme was followed by a display of Cheraw dance by Hnahthial District Sub Hqrs YMA, a pipe band performance by Govt. Southern High School and a solo performance from Baby Vanlhriatpuii.

The Union Minister of State left Hnahthial District for Lengpui Airport at 2:05 pm from where he is scheduled to reach Delhi.
