A Vigilance and Monitoring Committee held a meeting at Lunglei Circuit House Conference Hall under the guidance of C.L.Ruala, MP (Lok Sabha) and Lalhmingliana,MP (Rajya Sabha), here today. Speaking at the meeting, C.L. Ruala informed the meeting that  such meetings were held under the chairmanship of MPs to scrutinize and ensure that Development Fund sanctioned by the State and Central Government was  utilized correctly for which it was sanctioned. He also stated that repair works of rutted road between AOC and Hrangchalkawn had been handed over to PWD Highway Chief Engineer instead of the BRTF.

The meeting deliberated upon works carried out during 2009-2010 under MGNREGA with a sanctioned fund of Rs.3968.25/-lakhs, works under IAY with a sanctioned amount of Rs.303.748/-lakhs as well as works under SGSY with a sanctioned amount of Rs.69.779/-lakhs. The meeting felt that works undertaken were acceptably good in general, and better methods for implementation was also discussed. The Meeting  had thorough discussion and review on various works undertaken under PMGSY and NSAP as well.

 This meeting was  attended by Sports & Youth Services Minister  Zodintluanga, A.H.&Vety Minister N.K. Chakma, Parliamentary Secretary S.Laldingliana, HPC  Vice Chairman Joseph Lalhimpuia, John Siamkunga; MLA, and M.Zohmingthangi,IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei.
