John Williams Hospital Lunglei, yesterday hosted a function to inaugurate an eye clinic ‘Vision Centre’, a joint initiative of the Synod Hospital Dutlang and Mission for Vision, Mumbai, within its hospital premises. Dr. Lalremmawii, SPIO(NPCB&VI), Govt of Mizoram graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was attended by key Government officials within the District including DC Pi K. Lalrinzuali, SP Pu C. Lalthanmawia, SMO Dr Lalrinthangi, media persons and leaders of NGOS.

Chairing the inaugural function,Dr. Ramdinthara Sailo, Medical Superintendent JW. Hospital welcomed the attendees and thanked them for joining in the celebration of the new ‘Vision Centre’ at the hospital premises. Remarking that a state of the art eye clinic was the need of the hour in Lunglei town, he thanked the Government, Synod Hospital Dutlang and Mission for Vision, Mumbai for their tireless work in leading the project from concept to fruition.

In her short inaugural speech, Dr. Lalremmawii, SPIO(NPCB&VI), Govt of Mizoram, congratulated the residents of Lunglei for being blessed with such a well equipped eye clinic and expressed her hope that the clinic would be a blessing not only for Lunglei District but for residents of other nearby Districts as well.

Opthalmic Unit set, Slit Lamp, Ophthalmoscope & Retinoscope, Computer Set and Optical Display Rack were inaugurated at the Vision Centre yesterday.
