‘World Hearing Day’ was observed today at District Hospital, Kolasib with the theme ‘Hearing for Life, Don’t Let Hearing Loss Limit You’. National Programme for Prevention & Control of Deafness (NPPCD), District Hospital, Kolasib organized Free Health Camp on this occasion where participants are offered free ear checkup using Puretone Audiometry.

Dr Hmingthanmawii, Chief Medical Officer while addressing the gathering, highlighted on the importance of routine ear checkup and timely medical intervention for auditory problems, mentioning that many of the hearing problems can be corrected with early detection and proper treatment, encouraging them to spread awareness in this regards.

The health camp inaugural program was chaired by Dr Robert Lalfakawma, District Medical Superintendent and speech on Hearing health awareness was delivered by Malsawmkimi, Hearing Instructor, NPPCD. About 50 individuals had their health checkup in the World Hearing Day Free Health camp today.
