No.253/2021-2022
Aizawl 19th August 2021: World Photography Day, 2021 was jointly observed by the Information & Public Relations Department and the Mizo Photographers' Society at the I&PR Auditorium, Aizawl today.

Chief Guest at the function, I&PR Director Pi Lallianpuii encouraged the amateur photographers to upgrade their skills in order to produce photographs that would ever remain valuable and a good legacy for future generations. Over the years, she said, it has been the handiwork of keen photographers that has served as priceless documents of various government developmental works across the state.

Photographs are precious, and today, even the local newspapers illustrate the news and articles they carry with the help of photographs, which make the readers understand what they are reading better. As they say, 'A picture is worth a thousand words' and so it is through the power and magic of photography that we can forever encase Mizoram's history that is unfolding right before our eyes today, and at the same time, also exhibit the beauty of the land, its people and culture to the whole world, Pi Lallianpuii added.

To mark the 182nd World Photography Day this year, a 'Photo Competition via Facebook' was held and the prizes were distributed at the function itself today. The prize-winners were :-
