36 residents of Serchhip District stranded in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry arrived in Serchhip today and being quarantined at Eklavya Residential School Hostel Building after undergoing thorough medical screening.

These 36 people, including an infant child, arrived on Friday along with 800 other stranded people at Bairabi by a special train service. On arrival they underwent the mandatory screening and then proceeded to Serchhip by two buses without halting anywhere enroute. At Serchhip  the District Covid Task Force received them and took them straight to the quarantine centre at Eklavya School. Here, they were administered the Rapid Antibody Test (RAT), with none of them showing any signs of the disease. They will be quarantined for 14 days at the centre.
