As in other parts of Mizoram state and India, the 72nd Republic Day, 2021 celebration was held at Circuit House compound at 9:00am this morning in Siaha, with much solemnity and grandeur. However, due to Covid-19 pandemic, gathering of large crowd was not appropriate and, therefore, no school or other parade contigents were invited this time, only heads of offices and a few prominent citizens were invited to the celebration.
Shri.Kesavan R, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Siaha District was the Chief Guest on this auspicious celebration of Republic Day,
2021. In his speech, Chief Guest Shri Kesavan R profusely thanked all the frontliners from various Departments, churches, NGOs, Political parties and individuals who wholeheartedly and dedicatedly put forth their all-out efforts in combating Covid-19 pandemic last year. Whatever achievements and success we have had of today in our combat, through the preventive measures we have taken against the spread of this deadly virus, has been brought about by our unity and cooperation in the face of the danger and hardship, he said.
He also highlighted various government achievements in:Land Acquisition process, Medical infrastructure, Women upliftment, MGNREGS, State's Flagship Programme SEDP, PMKSY, One Nation One Ration Card Scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission, etc.
To commemorate this auspicious day, gifts were presented to all the Orphanages, Homes, Jail and Hospitals in Siaha district.
The Chief Guest also presented citations and incentive cash awards to 10 individual frontline workers under BBBP programme and two Village Councils, viz. No-aotla-I VC & Lopu VC for best perfoemance in raising the child sex ratio in their respective jurisdictions.
