Agriculture Minister Pu C. Lalrinsanga, also MLA of the concerned Assembly Constituency yesterday attended a function to honour successful students at Hauruang, a locality in Lunglei Town. He was accompanied by Lunglei Additional DC Pu David Liansanglura Pachuau, DAO Pu Tlangtimawia Zote, DIPRO Pi C. Lalremruati, party leaders etc.

 

At the outset, the Minister commended the Village Council & All NGO’s Hauruang for taking the initiative to organize an Wards Ceremony for successful students.He exhorted upon the students to work hard, aim high and look beyond Mizoram for job opportunities, especially in the prestigious All India Services and other Central Government jobs. Reminding the students that they are ‘the future leaders of Mizoram’ he called upon them to be courageous, honest and diligent in whichever profession they choose to take up later on in life. He also reminded them to be always guided by the core Mizo values of ‘tlawmngaihna’ and ‘taimakna’.

 

He also touched upon various initiatives to be undertaken by the Agriculture Department, informing the gathering that the state was gearing up to take up Organic Farming in a big way. He also spoke about his experience attending the International Workshop on Organic Policies held at Germany recently.

 

Yesterday’s program honoured 20 students – 14 HSLC pass outs, 4 HSSLC pass outs, 1 BA and 1 BCA graduate.
