A meeting in connection with maintenance of law and order during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festival was held today at the office chamber of the District Magistrate Pu Lalngaihsaka. Senior Superintendent of Police, Aizawl District; Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic); DIPRO, Aizawl; officers of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and representatives from the Central YMA were present at this meeting.
The District Magistrate had already imposed prohibitory orders regarding selling, buying and bursting firecrackers and bullet shooting toy guns under Section 144 Cr.PC 1973 (Act 11 of 1974) within Aizawl District. The committee once again appealed to the people from all sections of society to abide by the laws to ensure that this year’s Christmas and New Year is celebrated peacefully.
