Champhai District Election Officer (DEO) Pu S.L Naveen, IAS yesterday published undivided Champhai District Draft Electoral Roll 2020, comprising 5 Assembly Constituencies (A/C) at DC’s Office Chamber and handed over 1 copy each to the representatives of the political parties.
Period for filing claims and objections is opened between 16.12.2019 to 15.01.2020. By 27.01.2020 all claims and objections will be disposed off and final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on 7.2. 2020. The qualifying date for the roll is 1st January, 2020.
At the Roll Publication it was mentioned that among the districts of Mizoram, Undivided Champhai district stood first in the implementation of the recently concluded Elector Verification Programme (EVP), a measure to purification of Electoral Roll. The program was attended by Government Officials, representatives of political parties, NGO and Media.
