District Election Officer (DEO), Lawngtlai Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS published a draft electoral roll 2020 of three assembly constituencies within Lawngtlai District tomorow at her office chamber and handed over the draft electoral rolls to representatives of the political parties.

As per the draft electoral roll, there are 31372 voters (15852 males and 15520 females) in 36-Tuichawng (ST) A/C, 26926 voters (13524 males and 13402 females) in 37-Lawngtlai West (ST) A/C and 24000 voters (11626 males and 12374 females) in 38-Lawngtlai East (ST) A/C. In total, there are 82298 voters (41002 males and 41296 females) in Lawngtlai District.

Claims and objections regarding the draft roll can be filed upto 15th January, 2020. The qualifying date for the roll is 1st January, 2020. Final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on 7th February, 2020.

Meanwhile, 8 new polling stations in addition to the existing 62 stations in Tuichawng Constituency, 1 new polling station in addition to the existing 68 stations in Lawngtlai West Constituency and 7 new polling stations in addition to the existing 35 stations in Lawngtlai East Constituency are created resulting to the total number of 181 polling stations in Lawngtlai District.
