It has come to the notice of the undersigned that images and/ or videos relating to the activities of Armed Forces of the Union of India are being recorded and circulated online on various social media platforms.

In this context, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, vide its Advisory No. 41015/3/2024-BC-III dated 26 of April 2025 has advised all media platforms, news agencies, and social media users to exercise utmost responsibility and adhere strictly to existing laws and regulations when it comes to matters concerning defence and other security related operations.

Furthermore, it is also being brought to everyone's attention that obtaining, collecting, recording, or publishing, or communicating any secret official information pertaining to the naval, military or air force affairs of Government, is a punishable offence with imprisonment which may extend up to fourteen (14) years, as per Section 3(1)(c) of the Official Secrets Act, 1923.

Apart from the legal obligations, as already stressed by the Government of India in its Advisory, it is a shared moral responsibility to ensure that our collective actions do not compromise ongoing operations or the security of our Armed Forces.

Thus, all the residents of Aizawl District are being requested not to record, collect, share, or publish any information pertaining to movements or activities of the Armed Forces of the Union of India.
