Aizawl DC Shri Vanlalngaihsaka who is also the Chairman of Swacch Bharat Mission (Grameen), today launched Swacch Survekshan Grameen 2019 for Aizawl District at a function held at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Aizawl.

Launching the programme Shri Vanlalgaihsaka pointed that during last year’s survey Swacch Survekshan Grameen 2019, Aizawl District bagged the 2nd place in the North East Zone, missing a position in the national level by a small whisker which was primarily due to lower scores in the Feedback section of the survey. He added that the feedback section must be accorded importance and public must be sensitised on this aspect of the survey. Outlining the importance of cleanliness, he said that Mizoram has seen a positive change but added that bringing about behavioural changes amongst the public needs more concerted efforts.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Tawnluia had last week launched the state level programme.

Officials from the PHE Department who are responsible for SBM (G) presented a brief overview of SSG 2019 and the various parameters under the survey. They pointed out that out of the 22 villages where the survey will be undertaken, 15 villages have already been surveyed by the agency doing the survey.
