The Government of Mizoram is doing its best and has activated all administrative machinery for prevention and detection of COVID-19 in the state. In this regard it is working at various fronts with different Churches and NGOs on a war footing. In the best interest of public health and safety, it is taking all steps possible to procure required essentials and consumables for detection of any cases, restriction of movement on a strictly need basis and even closing of borders.
The Government of Mizoram today in an appeal urged all citizens to strictly follow and abide the Janta Curfew on 22nd March 2020 which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation yesterday. In its appeal, the Government requested everyone to stay indoors during the Janta Curfew from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday. Further, it requested all citizens to applaud and recognize the services of all those working diligently and selflessly in the fight against COVID-19 at 5:00 PM on 22nd March by either clapping or making sounds. The appeal is also very much in line with the Churches’ recent decision to temporarily suspend worship and other church services with the view to prevent any possible outbreak and requested families to have worship services at home.
