Aizawl the 21st April, 2021 : The Government of Mizoram has decided to make necessary arrangements for the transfer of surplus firearms to eligible family members of the licence holders in order to remove inconvenience to such arms holders. The sample form is attached in pdf format.

Persons holding more than two firearms shall surrender their surplus firearm to the concerned Licensing Authority or at the nearest Police Station within six months from 7th April, 2021. An application for a fresh arms license in the name of the family member of the surplus firearms shall be submitted within six months from 7th April, 2021. After the expiry of the period, such arms shall be liable to be confiscated as per the Arms (Amendment) Act, 2019.
