Governor of Mizoram is pleased to appoint the following Officers under Social Welfare Department as Child Marriage Prohibition Officers as per Rule 3 of Mizoram Prohibition of Child Marriage Rules, 2010 with immediate effect and until further orders :

Terms of references:

1.     The Officers are appointed for the purpose of ensuring effective implementation of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.

2.     He/She shall take cognizance suo motu or look into separate complaints regarding violations of the provisions of the Act and initiate prosecution before the competent Court.

3.     To collect evidence and assist the court for the effective prosecution of persons contravening the provisions of the Act.

4.     He/She shall hold office for such period until he/she is transferred to another post or he/she retires from Government services, whichever is earlier.
