Lunglei 22nd April 2022: As a part of the ongoing nationwide 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration, Hnahthial District joined the rest of the State by organizing a ‘Health Mela’ at S. Vanlaiphai PHC in Hnahthial Block today. The Health Mela, jointly organized by National Health Mission (NHM) and the Health & Family Welfare Department (H&FW), was kicked off by Vice Chairman Bamboo Devolopement Board, Dr. K. Pachhunga, MLA.

There were 17 stalls covering various health programmes with 14 doctors attending to the public. Covid-19 vaccine was also administered at the mela. The stalls housed various programmes like non-communicable disease, tobacco, mental health, HIV/AIDS (MSACS), vaccination, etc. where free counselling and other services were carried out. Unique Health ID generation under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Golden Card generation under AB-PMJAY were also carried out.

Block level health mela will continue in Lunglei District for the rest of the month, with subsequent melas scheduled to be organised at Haulawng for Lunglei Block on 25th April (Monday) and Buarpui for Bunghmun Block on 29th April (Friday).
