As a part of the ongoing nationwide 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration, Block Level Health Mela was organized for Lunglei RD Block at Haulawng town yesterday.

 The Health Mela, jointly organized by National Health Mission (NHM) and the Health & Family Welfare Department (H&FW), was kicked off by MYC Chairman Dr Vanlaltanpuia at PHC Haulawng.

In his inaugural speech MYC Chairman Dr Vanlaltanpuia thanked and commended the Health Department officials for their service to the public especially given the numerous challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

 Lunglei CMO Dr LC Liana'n chaired the inauguration, with report given by Lunglei SMO Dr Lalrinthangi.

There were 20 stalls covering various health programmes -  Skin clinic, ENT Clinic, Cancer clinic, medicine clinic, eye clinic, dental clinic, TB Clinic, Malaria counter, NCD Clinic, Tobacco Cessation Counter, AYUSH Counter etc with 15 doctors - Medicine specialist, Skin specialist, Pediatrician, gynaecologist, ENT specialist etc attending to the public. Covid-19 vaccine was also administered at the mela. The stalls housed various programmes like non-communicable disease, tobacco, mental health, HIV/AIDS (MSACS), vaccination, etc. where free counselling and other services were carried out. Unique Health ID generation under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Golden Card generation under AB-PMJAY were also carried out.
