The morning session chaired by the Speaker R. Romawia began with Question Hour. 10 Starred Questions were answered.

    Regarding Starred Question 71 on whether PWD Sub Division will be open and where, Mr. R. Lalzirliana replied on behalf of PWD Minister Mr. Lal Thanhawla that PWD Sub Division will be opened at Kawlkulh and Bunghmun. Mr. S. Hiato, Industries Minister informed the House that there was no Sub Divisional Industries Office at Chawngte in reply to Mr. Nirupam Chakma’s question. Regard to Starred Question 73 on LDSC Ground No II at Lunglei, Mr Zodintluanga, Sports & Youth Services Minister said that the total amount spend for LDSC Ground II is Rs.77,04,300 for construction of Hockey Ground and Rs. 26,40,000 for improvement of LDSC Ground.

    Mr. R. Lalzirliana informed the House that PWD Bulldozer,  JCB and Shutterings (beam & post) can be hired by anyone provided they are not in use by the department at the required time and the total revenue received for hiring out these equipments for 2008-09 is Rs.11,63,964. Mr. R. Lalzirliana also informed the House that Darlawn-N.Serzawl road under PMGSY is likely to be opened in December 2009 and that the construction of bridge over Tlawng river between Aibawk and Darlung is likely to finished by December 2009.

    Mr. Zodintluanga, Sports & Youth Services Minister in reply to Starred Question 80 said that  Mizoram Sports Policy draft has been completed and it is now being scrutinised for approval. He also informed the House that there was no Boxing Ring in Mizoram at the moment but as soon as the Budget Session is over,  tender will be floated for setting up of Boxing Ring.

    After Question Hour, in the absence of Mr. Lal Thanhawla, Chief Minister, Mr. R. Lalzirliana laid on the Table of the House a copy of ‘The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for the States of Manipur and Mizoram (Electricity Supply Code) Regulations, 2008’

    Mr. Lalsawta moved an Official Resolution that ‘That the  Gram Nyayalayas Act, 2008 (Central Act no 4 of 2009) stands applied to the State of Mizoram except in the areas comprising the Autonomous Districts of Lai, Mara and Chakma, with effect from October 2, 2009’
