On 09 Dec 2009 Border Security Force Sector Aizawl and 02 BN BSF organised a free Medical Camp at Thuampui YMA hall and Falkland. In the Medical camp team of doctors and paramedical staff from BSF provided Medical care and medicines to general population of surrounding areas. The Medical camp which was a day long affair is likely to benefit benefited 500 - 600 people from the localities. The camp was organised from 0930 - 1330 hrs at Thuampui and from 1430 - 1700 hrs at Falkland. Simultaneously a cleanliness drive in areas Zuangtui, Thuampui & Falkland was also organised from 1000 hrs - 1500 hrs on same day by BSF with assistance from YMA and village councils.

 

 

Both the events were organised by BSF under the inspiring leadership of Sh M. L. Batham. DIG BSF. DIG BSF while inaugurating both the events lauded people of Mizoram for their clean surrounding and concern for hygiene. Mr. Batham also promised to carry forward the spirit of ‘TLAWMNGAIHNA’ to ensure BSF’s active participation in Mizoram’s social progress. In last month BSF Sector Aizawl had donated books worth Rs.1 Lakh to the YMA libraries in city. It appears that SERVICE BEFORE SELF OR TLAWMNGAIHNA. the unique value systems of Mizos has been vigorously taken up by Border Security Force in Mizoram. The organization has so well picked up the Moral code of Mizo society that it has involved itself in numerous facets of upliftment of societ). Be it organizing Bharat Darshan tour for youth or study tour for underprivileged ladies of MHIP or distribution of teaching and sports item to various Schools or ensuring computer literacy to villagers of Mizoram by running courses it DOEACC or by distributing computers to YMA and village councils or ensuring employment generation by providing fisheries, piggeries and goateries to villages or motivating youth to lake up reading habits by providing books to YMA Libraries, through many more such activities. BSF in true sense has understood the concept of ‘Tlawmngaihna’ and is standing up tall for its selfless work for welfare of the Mizo community.

In another event showcasing the Samaritan nature of BSF. a blood donation camp was be organized on 10th Dec 2009 at 1000 hrs at Durtlang BSF Campus. A organisation which safeguards our nation with its blood on International borders is surely upfront and leading when it comes to saving lives with blood donation. BSF with its caring and loving attitude for Mizos and with its chivalry and modesty has definitely set standards for social services and promises to do more for Mizoram.
