Aizawl, 18th September 2024: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of the 1 Mizo Batallion NCC Aizawl wrapped up a 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) -67 at the Tanhril Training Location today at Aizawl. The CATC that serves as a platform for fostering and enhancing skills for cadets hailing in and around Mizoram, witnessed a participation of 350 Senior Division/Senior Wing (SD/SW) cadets alongside two Associate NCC Officers (ANOs).

The curriculum of the camp, organised under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Silchar and NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER), Shillong was designed to sharpen Cadets skill across various domain.

The winners were felicitated on 17th September 2024 by the Commanding Officer of 1 Mizo NCC Battalion and the camp concluded with a cultural programme organised by cadets, fostering bonds and celebrating their achievements.

Addressing the cadets during the closing ceremony in 17 September 2025, Camp Commandant, Colonel SS Kalia lauded their triumph in the CATC, highlighting the values of discipline, physical fitness, leadership and camaraderie instilled by the NCC. He encouraged the cadets to uphold these values and serves as ambassadors of the NCC, motivating others to explore the activities offered by the organisation and embrace the Army way of life.

The 10 day period focused on drill, firing, weapon Training, map reading, and training through community living, discipline, first-aid and character building. Additionally, guest lecturers from representatives from Military Hospital Team, Police Inspector OC of Vaivakawn Police Station and the Exchange Participant’s Association (EXPA) covered topics such as soft skills, communications, analytical reasoning, leadership, teamwork, CPR technique and New Criminal Laws (BNS). Each day of the camp was packed with rigorous training activities and competitions including drill, weapon training, map reading, firing, volleyball and football.
