A sitting of the District Level Fire Prevention Committee of Champhai took place yesterday here at DC Conference Hall presided over by Pu Mark Lalthanliana, Addl Deputy Commissioner.

The Chairman while appreciating the outstanding performance of the district in the previous year, also urged the people of the district to enhance the same enthusiasm and deeds in the days to come.

According to the meeting the inaugural programme of Fire Prevention Week is to be held on 10th February, 2020 immediately followed by week long activities stressing on the awareness Campaigns at Schools, Public places, localities, Churches and also through Print and Electronic Media. The theme for the Fire Prevention Week will be, ‘Prevent Fire Outbreak, Save your Nation’. The meeting also stressed on the prevention of Fire outbreak at Village level, it decided to instruct all Village Councils within the District to make proper fire line and prevent all possible fire outbreak, the meeting also maintained that the culprit will be given punishment as per the law. The meeting also agreed to select the best performing Village and Daily Newspaper during the fire season.

Also at the meeting, Pu Lalduhthlana, DFO Champhai & Member Secretary, Champhai District Level Fire Prevention Committee highlighted the activities and performances in the previous year.
