A preview meeting of the Republic Day Celebration Committee 2020, Champhai District was held today at DC’s Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Pu Mark Lalthanliana, Additional Deputy Commissioner.

Pu Mark Lalthanliana while explaining the importance of Republic Day, urged all the partakers and citizens to give due importance and sense of belonging to the auspicious day and asked for mutual cooperation and relentless efforts to make it a successful celebration.

Reports were given from different departments, the meeting decided to set up a proper Pipe Band Party in due course and different aspects regarding Republic Day Celebration were discussed at length. Funds were allocated for Football and Tennis Tournament which are underway as part of the Celebration.

Republic Day 2020 celebration at Chhangphut Field will be starting at 7:30 AM. Pu SL Naveen, IAS will be gracing the celebration as the Chief Guest which will be witnessing Unfurling National Flag, March Past by various parade contingents comprising Armed, Unarmed, Scholl and Pipe Band Party. And also at the celebration, prize distribution ceremony for Short Clip Video making compettition under Project HIMNA- MADAT (Mizoram against Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco) will be conducted.

The meeting was attended by Pu Rex Zarzoliana, SP Champhai and concerned department Officers, among others.
