Champhai, the 31st May, 2022: The live interaction of Government Welfare Schemes beneficiaries with Hon'ble Prime Minister of India aptly named as 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' held through Video Conferencing at today's event from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh was also joined from Champhai along with the rest of the country. The auspicious event at district level was attended by Hon'ble Law & Judicial Minister Pu T.J. Lalnuntluanga as the Chief Guest, DC Champhai Pu James Lalrinchhana, line department officials, VC members, NGOs' leaders and beneficiaries, among others here at Champhai.

The first session started at 9:45 AM in which similar Sammelan  was also organized at Champhai District headquarters, Mizoram which was presided over by Pu James Lalrinchhana, Deputy Commissioner in the presence of the Chief Guest Pu T.J. Lalnuntluanga, Minister of State, Law & Judicial etc. Mizoram. The Sammelan was attended by 110 persons - 83 participants from government departments, members of Village Councils and representatives of the civil society organisations and 27 beneficiaries of the various schemes. Hon'ble Chief Guest interacted with the beneficiaries who shared their views on the impact of these schemes in their lives. The District level Garib Kalyan Sammelan also witnessed powerpoint presentations on Swachh Bharat Mission by DUDO, PM MUDRA Yojana by Lead District Manager and Jal Jeevan Mission & AMRUT by EE, PHE Department. Pu Lalnunfela Chawngthu, SDO(S) proposed vote of thanks and concluded the first session. At 11:00 AM, the event was linked with the national event and the participants watched Hon'ble Prime Minister live from Shimla interacting with the beneficiaries from different places of the country.

As a part of the celebration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the Indian Independence, a nation-wide event of interaction with the beneficiaries of about sixteen schemes/progammes spanning nine Ministries/Departments of the Government of India was organized on 31.05.2022. The schemes/programmes covered under the event are:

(i) Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (both Grameen & Urban)
(ii) Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi
(iii) Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
(iv) POSHAN Abhiyan
(v) Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
(vi) Swachh Bharat Mission (both Grameen & Urban)
(vii) Jal Jeevan Mission & AMRUT
(viii) Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme
(ix) One Nation One Ration Card
(x) Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
(xi) Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana
(xii) Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre
(xiii) Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana

The event was aptly named as 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' as all these schemes address the
poorest segment of the population. The principal objective of the interaction was to understand how these schemes have brought about ease of living for the citizens, to explore possibility of convergence and saturation and to assess the citizens' aspiration for India as it completes 100 years of independence in the year 2047. The Sammelan is one of the largest ever single-event nationwide interaction.

The national level Sammelan was organized at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh which was presided over by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. Hon'ble Prime Minster interacted with beneficiaries about the impact that the wide-ranging schemes/programmes covering housing, availability of potable water, food, health and nutrition, livelihood and financial inclusion etc., have had on their lives. Hon'ble Prime Minister also interacted with beneficiaries through video-conferencing.
