As part of the activities held in celebration of the Children’s Week, District Child Protection Unit in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Champhai today organized Children’s Carnival, the first of its kind here at Rohmingliana Recreation Centre/Children’s Park, Champhai Kahrawt. Pu Rex Zarzoliana Vanchhawng, Superintendent of Police Champhai as the Chief Guest inaugurated the Carnival,  Pi Lalrochami Ralte, Chief Judicial Magistrate attended the inaugural programme as the Guest of Honour in which Deputy Commissioner Champhai   Pu S.L Naveen, IAS was the  Father of  Carnival.

Addressing the Children at the inaugural programme, Pu Rex Zarzoliana Vanchawng advised the Children  to be obedient and stay happy in every circumstances.  Stressing on the importance of education in every walk of life, the SP urged the children to focus on their studies in order to coming out with flying colours in their future endeavours. Also Father of Carnival, Pu S.L Naveen encouraged the Children to enjoy their special day to the fullest.

Children’s Carnival the first of its kind here at Champhai is held in observance of World Day Against Child Abuse, 2019, which had been observed since the year 2000. It’s their birthright to enjoy their childhood life and to ensure that fun games and lots of exciting activities have been arranged for the Children.  

Inaugural programme was presided over by  Pu V.L Chama Hnamte, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee (CWC). As per the Children’s Week Celebration schedule, a special programme for Children in need of Care and Protection is going to be organised at I&PR Auditorium on November 21, 2019.
