As a part of Chapchar Kut 2020 celebrations an exhibition of the works of Mizo contemporary artists and photographers was inaugurated by Pi Lallianpuii, Director, Information & Public Relations Department this afternoon at Vanapa Hall.
In her inaugural speech, Pi Lallianpuii said that various forms of art including paintings and photography add depth and meaning to human life and art forms express human emotions which often go beyond words. She pointed that art is a universal language and helps in connecting people and culture across the world transcending barriers of communication. She also said that art also helps document a community’s cultural heritage.
The inauguration of the Exhibition was chaired by Pi Lianthangpuii, Deputy Director. Pu C. Laltanpuia, President, Mizoram Art Development Society (MADS) and Pu Tlauliana, President, Mizo Photographers Society (MPS) also shared their thoughts on the occasion.
The Exhibition-cum-Sale is being organised by the Information & Public Relations Department in collaboration with local artists and photographers body and will be open till the evening of 6th March 2020. It features 87 paintings by 40 artists and 64 photographs by 33 photographers.
