The climatic conditions, rainfall, temperature and condition of Mizoram is favourable for different species of Medicinal plants. However, farmers need to be made aware of the scope of cultivating these medicinal plants. I would like to urge the State Medicinal Plants Board to involve more farmers to cultivate these medicinal plants in some areas of their conventional farmlands so as to ensure the sustained availability of raw materials and also become an additional source of income for the farmers as there is a huge market potential for medicinal plants.”
