Aizawl, the 10th October, 2024: Shri Girish Prasad Singh, Chief Engineer of Project Pushpak (Border Roads Organisation) met Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Hon'ble Governor of Mizoram today and briefed him about various ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in the State of Mizoram. The meeting was aimed to provide an update on the progress of various roads and bridge construction, which are crucial for enhancing connectivity and development in remote and strategically important areas of Mizoram State.
Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati while highlighting the importance of road construction works particularly in border areas like Mizoram urged that the development projects of BRO should be completed within a stipulated time. He also mentioned that due to differences in topographic and climatic conditions as compared to mainland areas, BRO projects in Mizoram should be considered taking all measures, he added. He also asked the Project Pushpak CE and his colleagues to do their utmost in the construction and maintenance of BRO roads.
The Governor appreciated Project Pushpak's commitment and efforts in planning and executing these projects, noting that it has significantly benefitted Mizoram's people and its economy. He also expressed his continued support to BRO's initiatives and assured full cooperation in overcoming any logistical or administrative challenges. This collaboration will expedite project completion and enhance infrastructural landscape in Mizoram, further integrating the State into India's border development framework.
During the briefing, the Chief Engineer highlighted the BRO's efforts in constructing new roads as well as upgrading key roads that link important districts and border areas of Mizoram. These projects are designed to ensure all-weather accessibility through infusing of new technology, thereby improving transportation networks, support economic growth and creating employment opportunities in the State.
The Chief Engineer emphasized that their developments are not only vital for the movement of armed forces but also for boosting trade, tourism and overall development of Mizo people. Chief Engineer also extended invitation to the Governor to witness the inauguration ceremony of 75 infrastructure projects being done by Shri Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister on 12 October, 2024 from Sikkim.
