Aizawl, 21st March 2025: The Mizoram State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with All Mizoram Women Elected Representatives, organized a Capacity Building and Leadership Training for Elected Women Representatives in Aizawl Municipal Corporation areas at the I&PR Auditorium today. The inaugural session was graced by the Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma, who is also a Minister of Law & Judicials.

In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that leaders of the state and society must work within the framework of the law and should be well-versed in it. He noted that ignorance of the law can lead to unintended consequences and that safeguarding the rights of the people and ensuring effective governance requires a thorough understanding of legal frameworks. He highlighted that such training programs are essential not only for elected women representatives but for all elected representative persons. He also stressed that empowering women and strengthening their leadership skills is essential, and the government remains committed to supporting such initiatives.

The event was chaired by Pi R. Zomuanpuii, President of the All Mizoram Women Elected Representatives, who expressed her gratitude to all participants. She highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, Mizoram has, for the first time, a woman Cabinet Minister, Pi Lalrinpuii. This remarkable milestone has greatly inspired and encouraged women across the state.

Pu Vincent Lalrokima, MJS, Member Secretary of the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority, also addressed the gathering, elaborating on their ongoing initiatives and affirming their commitment to serving the people.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks from Pi Florence Vanlanrengpuii, General Secretary. Following the inauguration, four thematic sessions on legal provisions and governance were conducted.
