53/2025-2026
9th May, 2025 : The Education Department today organized the Chief Minister’s Award 2025 felicitation ceremony at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl, to honour the toppers of the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) 2025 Examinations – Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC). The event was graced by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, with Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana attending as the Guest of Honour.
In his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the following key points:
1. The CM’s Award is a recognition of students' excellence in the MBSE examinations and a symbol of the government’s appreciation and encouragement for their future journey.
2. The most valuable resource of a state is its human resource. Without education, citizens cannot fully utilise even the most abundant natural resources. However, through education, knowledge, and skill, people can transform even limited resources into valuable assets.
3. Mizoram is emerging as one of the most literate states in India. However, being the most literate state should not merely be a title — it must be reflected in our progress and productivity.
4. More youth should aspire to pursue higher education and professional research, as Mizoram still lacks a sufficient number of scientists and researchers.
5. The government is strongly committed to the education sector and allocates substantial resources towards it. While challenges persist, the government strives to address them systematically.
6. Addressing students, the Chief Minister warned against the excessive use of smartphones and social media. While today’s toppers used the internet productively, many students spend too much time on screens without meaningful outcomes. He remarked, “Watching content on mobile phones, computers, and smart TVs or playing games may seem fun, but they often do not lead to meaningful progress. Success is not about just ‘clicking’ — it is about real hard work.”
7. The Chief Minister praised their dedication and encouraged them to continue representing Mizoram with pride. “Your success is Mizoram’s success, and your stories are Mizoram’s stories,” he said.
Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana, in his speech, extended heartfelt congratulations to the toppers and expressed hope that their achievements would motivate others. He emphasized the importance of continuing their educational journey with sincerity and determination.
