Aizawl, the 8th August 2020: Inaugural function of upcoming 13 books and poems written by Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai was held at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan today. Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga, Former Chief Minister Pu Lal Thanhawla, Justice Michael Zothankhuma, Judge, Gauhati High Court,  Justice Nelson Sailo, Judge, High Court and Chief Secretary Pu Lalnunmawia Chuaungo were among the limited invitees who had attended the inaugural function.

On writing books, Sri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai shared various sources of his inspiration  and briefly introduced to the audience some themes of his collection of literary works of more than 120 books and counting. The other 10 books  to be released in different parts of the country and abroad will be highlighting various topics such as Corona Virus Pandemic, social issues, legal subjects and others.

Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga, a writer himself  on inaugurating the release of the books was effusive in praise for the extraordinary achievement of the Governor on his creative ventures and  making full use of the Lockdown period. On this occasion, he had also expressed his appreciation of the active participation of the Governor in governance in general and the dedication shown by the latter to the general public and to the social cause in Mizoram.

Also speaking on the occassion, Pu Lal Thanhawla, Former Chief Minister had expressed his admiration for the Governor on his literary prowess and sheer hardworks. He had lamented that there are still a very limited number of books written about Mizoram and the people in English. He remarked that the Governor is now leading in this field and set an example for everyone else to follow. He went on to encourage the author to write more books on Mizoram and the people so that so that Mizoram will be better known to the people in other parts of the country and abroad.

In this function, the upcoming releases of 13 books and poem by Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai was inaugurated by Chief Minister.He had also released a collection of poems titled, "Corona Kavithakal' with Covid-19 Pandemic as the main theme by handing away a copy of the book to Brig. Vinod S, Commander 23 Sector Assam Riffles. This was followed by the release of the two books - 'Republic Day 2020' and 'Thus Speaks the Governor'  by Justice Ajai Lamba, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court via recorded Message. During the programme the poem 'Oh! Mizoram' was recited. Pu Lal Thanhawla, Former Chief Minister had also commented on the achievement of the author of the books. Republic Day 2020 is compilation speeches of the President of India and himself on Republic Day where as 'Thus Speaks the Governor' is the collection of his speeches on various occasions.
