Aizawl, the 7th August 2020 : In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive cases amongst drivers and handymen of good carriers plying along NH-306 and NH-6 (between Vairengte and Aizawl), the Government of Mizoram today issued an order stating that only vehicles carrying essential commodities shall be allowed to enter the state through Vairengte and Kanhmun only, provided that the drivers and handymen are screened at the entry points using Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and are declared negative. The order further stated that all other entry points shall be closed for entry of goods carrying vehicles. This order however exempts passenger vehicles transporting persons who have duly registered themselves through mPass-ENTRY OF PERSONS link of mcovid19.mizoram.gov.in with the Home Department.
This order has been issued to prevent the risk of further spread of COVID-19 amongst drivers and handymen of goods carrying vehicles as well as members of the community residing along this highway between Vairengte and Aizawl and also to regulate further entry of potential spreaders into the state.
This order has been issued by Chief Secretary, who is also Chairman of State Executive Committee, State Disaster Management Authority, Mizoram and will take immediate effect from today i.e. 07.08.2020 and will remain in force until furthers orders.
18 positive cases of COVID-19 had been detected today among drivers and handymen of goods carrying vehicles along this highway using RAT. In addition, a 12 year old boy of Sethawn village along this highway also tested positive.
