Aizawl 25th February, 2022: A competition on water and sanitation for self help groups (SHGs) and members of SHGs under the Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MzSRLM), Lawngtlai District was organised by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Lawngtlai today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.
Prizes of the competition were given away in the afternoon with Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika and Executive Member i/c Sanitation, LADC Pu Lalropuia Chinzah gracing the function as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
The competition had three categories. In Category-I (designing of poster slogan on importance of clean & functional toilet), 1st prize went to Hammo SHG, Kamalanagar-III, Chawngte RD Block, 2nd prize to Chorgi SHG, Kamalanagar-II, Chawngte RD Block and 3rd prize to Dopawrha SHG, Mampui, Lawngtlai RD Block. Five SHGs under Chawngte RD Block - Charlene SHG, Saizawh West; SSB Colony B Group SHG, Bajeisora; Colony SHG, Bajeisora; Unity SHG, Kamalanagar-IV and Sadak Fan SHG, Baganpara got a consolation prize.
In Category-II (designing of poster slogan on importance of clean water & conservation of water source), 1st prize went to Zotuithiang SHG, Mampui, Lawngtlai RD Block, 2nd prize to Chawnpui SHG, Chawntlangpui, Lawngtlai RD Block and 3rd prize to Sadak Fan SHG, Baganpara, Chawngte RD Block. Sem Sem SHG, Tuithumhnar, Lawngtlai RD Block; Abigail SHG, Saizawh West, Chawngte RD Block; Unity SHG, Kamalanagar-IV, Chawngte RD Block; B. Jeegir SHG, Palenasora, Chawngte RD Block and Zamzo SHG, Vartekkai, Sangau RD Block got a consolation prize.
In Category-III (skills competition using waste products), Lalenkawli, Ainawn SHG, Sihtlangpui, Lawngtlai RD Block got the 1st prize, R. Lalkrospari, Samuel SHG, Sangau-II, Sangau RD Block got the 2nd prize and Hmangaihzuali, Charlene SHG, Saizawh West, Chawngte RD Block got the 3rd prize. No consolation prize was given away.
The 1st prize winners received a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- with citation, 2nd prize winners received Rs 30,000/- in cash with citation, 3rd prize went with Rs 20,000/- plus citation, and consolation prize winners got Rs 5,000/- with citation.
