The Committee formed to coordinate on-going infrastructural works between various stakeholders such as sewerage lines, water supply lines, underground cables, resurfacing and carpeting of roads in and around Aizawl city – Coordination Committee on Management for Aizawl City (CoMACi) held its first meeting today under its Chairman, Aizawl DC Shri Vanlalngaihsaka.

Today’s meeting discussed the mandate of the Committee and its important role as a channel between works Departments and the general public. The Committee requested all such Departments who undertake any developmental works in the city to issue notices well in advance of any road disruptions, diversions of traffic, closed roads and to give wide publicity so that the inconveniences and problems of the general public are minimised. With Christmas festivities not very far, the Committee asked SIPMUI to undertake work on the main traffic spine, near Chanmari, after Christmas as disruptions on the main traffic spine during the festive season would create a lot of problems.

CoMaCi was set up by Aizawl Traffic Management Committee as a single window to coordinate road digging and road blocks in various parts of Aizawl during the course of any up-gradation and infrastructural development, amongst various government Departments and other stakeholders including the general public.
