Dated Kolasib the 11th March 2021 : In the ongoing fight against COVID-19, vaccination for senior citizens and comorbidities was started today in Kolasib District of Mizoram. Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, Kolasib and his medical team, elderly citizens of 60 years and above and persons with certain comorbidities were vaccinated today at Govt. Primary School – I, Banglakawn. Names registered for vaccination in this category are 655 in number.

Abiding by the rules and guidelines made by the Central Ministry in the process of COVID19 Vaccination, the vaccine will be given according to area-wise schedule within Kolasib town, in order to maintain social distancing. Citizens from Kolasib Venglai, Venglai East and Project Veng were vaccinated today and 408 more from Diakkawn and College Veng are to be vaccinated tomorrow. 

Till date, a total number of 2,496 persons have given COVID-19 vaccine in Kolasib District. Out of these, 711 are Health Care Workers who have taken the 1st dose and 604 from among them have already taken the 2nd dose too. Also, 1,785 Frontline Workers have been vaccinated with the 1st dose. The total number of persons vaccinated today was 332, of which 316 were senior citizens and 16 were person with comorbidities.
