Kolasib dated 11th March 2021: Two days comprehensive training on poultry rearing including hands-on practice was organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Mizoram Centre Kolasib district. The training was inaugurated by Dr.H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner with Dr. Engkunga Chhangte, DVO as Guest of Honour.
Chief Guest Dr.H.Lalthlangliana pointed out the importance of using technology in farming as it will result in the increase of farm production substantially. He also highlighted the crucial role played by ICAR, Kolasib in the improvement of livelihood among the farmers, stating that more interaction between farmers and scientists from ICAR must be encouraged in order to increase the productivity of farmers.
Dr.I.Shakuntala, Joint Director, ICAR briefly spoke about the schedule of the training program. Dr. Lalhriatpuii, Scientist, ICAR, chaired the function with inspirational speech from Dr. Engkunga Chhangte, DVO, Kolasib. The training program will consist of various topics such as integrated farming method of poultry and fish, feed management and hatchery management.
The DC also handed over 2 hatchery units with a capacity of 600 eggs each to Village Organisation, Bilkhawthlir North SHG.
