Lawngtlai, the 27th May, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika, along with officials from District Administration, Health Department and Police, today conducted a virtual meeting with officials and stakeholders from Chawngte Sub-Division regarding recent case surge of COVID-19 within Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) area. They discussed ongoing measures and necessary action plans to address the issue and to prevent and contain further widespread of COVID-19 in the area.
The virtual meeting was conducted at NIC Conference Hall in the headquarters which was attended by Chief Executive Member of CADC Pu Durjya Dhan Chakma, Chawngte Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Dr Manesia Khaimeichho, SMO and MOs of Chawngte CHC, SDPO Chawngte and representatives of NGOs within CADC Area from their respective location through Google Meet application.
Reports on implementation and effectiveness of lockdown and curfew within Chawngte Sub-Division, functionality of Village Level Task Forces, police patrolling and medical teams were given. It was also reported that good support and cooperation were extended from CADC.
It was resolved to identify and arrange more Community Covid Care Centres (4Cs) within CADC area and to form Executive Duty for better and strict implementation of lockdown guidelines and maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour in the area. Additional DC Lawngtlai Pi Marilyn Rualzakhumthangi and Senior Medical Officer Dr S. Thaizi are also assigned to visit Chawngte on 29th May, 2021 (Saturday) to help make necessary plans with the officials and other stakeholders.
As per report received from Medical Team Chawngte, there are 137 (75 male and 62 female) active cases of COVID-19 within CADC area.
