No.284/2020-2021

Lawngtlai, 19th October, 2020: A meeting to discuss matters related to three containment areas within Lawngtlai town, namely, Lawngtlai Vengpui, Vengpui-II and Electric Veng village council areas was held today at DC's office chamber, Lawngtlai.

The meeting was attended by representatives from District Administration, medical, police and the concerned VLTFs. DC Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika thanked the VLTFs and the public for their cooperation and support in the fights against COVID-19. He also praised the hardwork and dedication shown by medical and police personnel.

Sr Medical Officer Dr S. Thaizi reported that contact tracing of the two positive cases was completed and 132 nos of primary contacts were traced and being home quarantined.

District Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Lawngtlai (DHL) Dr Zothanpari Chhakchhuak reported that thus far 26 samples of primary contact already tested turned out negative. She pointed out that sample of positive contacts was to be taken by 5 to 10 days after last contact and that sample testing could not be fast because only around 25 samples could be run in DHL TrueNAT Laboratory per day.

Following the deliberate discussions, DC Lawngtlai issued a notification denotifying Lawngtlai Vengpui, Vengpui-II and Electric Veng village council areas as containment areas. However, those being home quarantined as a result of contact tracing are to remain quarantined until there is a permission for discharge from medical teams and VLTFs.
