Lawngtlai, the 19th October, 2020: District Election Officer (DEO), Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika published a draft electoral roll for election to the Members of District Council (MDC)-Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), 2020 today at his office chamber and handed over the draft electoral rolls to representatives of the political parties.

As per the draft electoral roll, there are 51802 voters (25612 males, 26179 females and 11 others) in LADC area. Among 25 MDC constituencies, 4-Cheural MDC Constituency having 1250 voters has least number of voters while 20-Sakeilui MDC Constituency having 3466 voters has most number of voters in a single consituency. Among 111 polling stations, 25/4-Chamdurtlang-II Polling Station with 75 voters has least number of voters while 1/1-Pangkhua Polling Station with 1007 voters has most number of voters in a single polling station.

Eight (8) polling stations has been added so far to the 103 polling stations in the MDC-LADC Electoral Roll, 2015 resulting to the existing 111 polling stations. There is an increase of 5397 voters in total voters from 46405 voters in 2015 to 51802 voters in 2020.

Claims and objections regarding the MDC-LADC draft electoral roll should be filed within three days during 20th to 23rd October, 2020. The qualifying date for the roll is 1st January, 2020. Final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on 29th October, 2020.
