Deputy Chief Minister Mr Tawnluia who is also the Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation department minister laid the foundation stone for the contruction of Multi-Level Car Parking Cum Market & Multi Utility Building at Thakthing today. The minister was accompanied by Mr L Thangmawi, MLA, Dr ZR Thiamsanga, MLA, Mr C Lalmuanpuia MLA, Deputy Mayor AMC and the function was attended by representatives from various NGO of Thakthing veng and officials from UD&PA department.

The Deputy Chief Minister was delighted to learn the effort and support given to the government from the local community in bringing about development in the area. Mr Tawnluia urged the local community to take active part throughout the whole process of the construction and to maintain and manage the building in such a way that it is utilise properly for the right purpose. The minister highlighted on various developmental works to be taken up under the Smart City mission which will include installation a high resolution CCTV and wifi hotspot at several location in the city, establishing Common service centre to improve ease of doing business and to provide easily accessible internet services. The minister also mentioned certain initiatives taken to tackle the menace of traffic jam and improve the living standard in the city through construction of Multi-Level Car Parking at Mizoram New Capital Complex, Multi-Level Car Parking, Ramhlun South, Zodin Square and Tuikual South, Community Centre cum Car Parking, Maubawk, Multi-purpose Hall Ramthar and Public Utility Project at Chaltlang.

The Multi-Level Car Parking Cum Market & Multi Utility Building at Thakthing will be constructed by Mr R Liantluanga, Bungkawn, Aizawl at an estimated cost of Rs 884.73 lakhs. The building will have three basement, a ground floor, 1st floor and a 2nd floor and will able to house 30 light vehicles, 30 two wheelers, an Auditorium, a market and Facility centre and the work is expected to be completed within 24 months.
