The Deputy Commissioner urged the land owners in Zophai and surrounding areas to comply with the rules and instructions issued by the District Administration in regard to the management of farms in order to avoid occurrence of mishaps in these areas. The DC also said that all land owners who were not summoned to today's meeting must report to the President, Village Council Bairabi North, not later than the end of March, 2021. The DC urged the farm owners employ domestic local labours as far as possible,  hence generating more employment for the residents in the area and also to give importance towards obtaining ILP for workers employed from outside the state in their farms and to have proper agreements in writing signed by both/all parties, clearly mentioning the duration, terms and conditions of the employment in these border areas.
