Aizawl, 10th March, 2021 : For the third time in a row, Sports Minister Robert Romawi Royte distributes sewing machines this morning to 150 beneficiaries within Aizawl East II constituency.

At a simple function held in his residence at Chhinga Veng Aizawl, the Sports minister said the driving force behind the reason he joined politics in the first place was his aspiration to give his utmost for the service of the people. In his endeavour to work for the development of the society, he appealed to the public leaders and the beneficiaries present, to render their suppport and cooperation and to continually pray for him to achieve his purpose. 

With the rest of the world and other states of India, Mizoram too faced serious challenges under Covid 19 pandemic, the Minister said. Financial problem being one such major issue, Mizoram is fortunate enough to receive substantial amount of development fund through his departments for the development of the state. These funds must be utilised in a fair and judicious manner, he said. He urged the beneficiaries to utilise their machines not only for the purpose of self-reliance, but to generate more income for their families, and asked parents to ensure girls in the family are encouraged in the craft of sewing and embroidery.

This is the third time the Sports minister utilises his MLA fund to distribute sewing machines to less privileged families within his constituency and altogether 570 sewing machines have been distributed.
