Aizawl, the 27th February, 2024: Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, spouse of the Vice President of India, yesterday visited the State Senior Citizens' Home at Ainawn Veng, Aizawl, managed by the Department of Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Women & Child Development.

Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar personally gifted each of the nine residents tokens of appreciation, spreading joy and fostering connections within the home. Her visit emphasized the significance of compassion, empathy, and community engagement. Through her presence and gestures, she uplifted the spirits of the residents.

Upon arrival, Dr. Lalhriatzuali Ralte, IAS, Director of Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs, warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and delivered a speech on behalf of the department. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the guests. Residents and staff showcased their talents and hospitality through traditional and cultural events.

After engaging interactions and the gift-giving ceremony, Dr. Sudesh Dhankar toured the State Senior Citizens' Home, gaining firsthand insight into the living conditions and daily routines of the residents. This tour allowed for meaningful engagement with both residents and staff, highlighting the available facilities and amenities. The local council members from Ainawn Veng also attended the event.
