Aizawl, the 27th February 2024: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati graced the Diagnostic & Fitment Camp for Hearing Impaired, jointly organised by Ephatha Society of Mizoram for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing & the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Mumbai. The program was held at Ephatha Special School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Kulikawn West, Aizawl.
At the outset, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati thanked some individuals and organizations in the society who are working for the rights and welfare of vulnerable groups. He shared his appreciation of the Ephatha Society for undertaking honourable services concerning the welfare of persons with hearing impairment. In line with the initiatives taken up by the Ephatha Society and other volunteers, the Governor appealed to all stakeholders to contribute to the betterment of our beloved Divyangs( Persons with Disabilities). He further advocated for sensitization to ensure that our fellow human beings, despite disabilities, can live with dignity and respect.
Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, in support of the program and the cause, sanctioned Rs 50,000/-. He also briefed the officials and the representatives of The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute on revising the strategy and how this initiative would be more accessible, and reach more beneficiaries beyond just organizing camps and awareness programs.
In this official function, the Governor handed out Hearing Aids to the beneficiaries and the students of Ephatha Special School.
