Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) handed over its product, Biotoilet to Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Mizoram under the chairmanship of Shri Amjad Tak, Secretary, PHED at Aijal Club today.

Addressing at the function, the Director of Defence Research Laboratory, Tezpur, Dr. S.K. Dwivedi said that the introduction of Biotoilet in Mizoram is a milestone in the history of sanitation, and Mizoram has great advantage due to abundant supply of water. He also made a mention that handling of Biotoilet in different regions might be different as the technology involved  Anearobic Microbial Innoculum and their reaction might differ. He stressed that continuous feedback mechanism must be maintained from Scientists at Tezpur.

UD&PA Director Shri Joseph Lalramsanga complimented the DRDO for achieving another milestone in their continuing success stories and he emphasized on the importance of awareness and role played by the media in this regard.
