Dated Saitual the 23rd March 2024: In the run-up to the highly anticipated General Election to Lok Sabha  2024, the Election Commission's appointed expenditure observer for Mizoram , Mr. Arvind Sharma hold a  pivotal meeting yesterday ie, 22nd March 2024, with key banking officials at the DC Conference hall  in Saitual . This visit underscores the Election Commission's dedication to ensuring a transparent and fair electoral process, particularly in monitoring and managing election-related expenditures.

During the meeting with the bankers, Mr. Arvind Sharma emphasized the importance of collaboration and coordination among the banking institutions to facilitate a seamless electoral expenditure monitoring process. He highlighted the critical role that the banks play in this regard and urged them to foster a close relationship with the assistant expenditure observer assigned to the district. Mr. Sharma made a specific request to the bankers to submit daily reports as well.

The meeting saw the attendance of prominent bankers from across Saitual, indicating the significant interest and willingness among the financial institutions to play an active role in ensuring a fair electoral process. The discussions were constructive, focusing on how the banks could collaborate effectively during the election period, with the shared goal of enhancing transparency and accountability in election-related financial matters.

Before this meeting with Bank officials, Mr. Arvind Sharma, along with election officials from Saitual, conducted visits to various polling stations within the Saitual Town.
