Lawngtlai, 27th November 2025: As part of the preparations for the upcoming 12th Member of District Council (MDC) Election under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Commissioning was conducted today at the DC Conference Hall. The programme was chaired by Shri Donny Lalruatsanga, District Election Officer (DEO), and attended by Shri Abraham Beirazi Khithie (Observer), Shri Collin Hlychho, Election Officer, other election officials, as well as representatives from various political parties.

For the 111 Polling Stations in Lawngtlai District (including 1 Auxiliary Polling Station), the required EVMs — Control Units (CUs) and Balloting Units (BUs) — were properly prepared, verified, and commissioned to ensure they are ready for use on the polling day. All procedures were followed to ensure transparency, accuracy, and reliability of the machines.

Engineers from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bangalore, were also present during the commissioning to provide technical support and to ensure that the machines are fully functional and compliant with election guidelines.
