Lawngtlai, 27th November 2025: As part of the preparations for the upcoming 12th Member of District Council (MDC) Election under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), the second phase of EVM and VVPAT randomization was successfully conducted this morning at 9:30 AM in the DC Conference Hall, Lawngtlai. The process was overseen by District Election Officer (DEO) Shri Donny Lalruatsanga and Election Observer Shri Abraham Beirazi Khithie.

During the randomization, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) were allocated to polling stations through a computer-generated process, ensuring there is no preferential selection. This procedure was carried out in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the State Election Commission (SEC). Reserve machines were also randomized as required.

The event was conducted under the supervision of the DEO, with representatives of various political parties and election officials present. Before the randomization began, the EVM strong room was opened in their presence. Machines were then allotted to different polling stations as per the randomization output.
